Condolence: I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Burn's passing. We were acquainted through our shared friend Mae Hall who was like a grandmother to me and was a fixture at the Burn's place in Niota. My heartfelt condolences to the family and close friends.

Condolence: Ms. Mitzi Smith of McCallie School has informed me of the sad death of my classmate Harry T. Burn.
Harry and I were in contact for many years through a yearly Christmas card enclosing a letter with special comments of his life activities. My wife Eva Maria and I always were expecting his Christmas card that we enjoyed very much. We shall miss Harry and his cards - letters very much.
My prayers for my dear friend Harry.
Sincerely,
Alberto McGregor ’55 – McCallie School

Condolence: I met Mr. Burn through his love for Tulip Mrs. John T. Scheepers, named after his Aunt Rose, my great aunt. She was married to Johannes Scheepers who founded the John Scheepers Beauty from Bulbs company in 1908, where I work. Mr. Burn and I shared our family memories through long phone calls and emails. He told me of his memories of summers in Jamestown, RI at "Rose's Cottage". He was exceedingly gracious and kind. I so admired his kindness, reverence for historical preservation, and generosity of spirit. I am sad that I hadn't yet sent him the round of Gouda that I bought him as a present when I was in the Netherlands, the taste of childhood memories for which he longed. I will so miss our chats, his kind emails, gentle humor and sweet letters. The world was a better place with Mr. Harry T. Burn in it. I am honored to have known him in these ways.

Condolence: Harry was my favorite penpal. We bonded a couple years ago when we purchased his families farm here on Jamestown. He was a fountain of knowledge and information about the place, how I wish he could have come out and seen it in person. I planted a rose garden in the orchard in honor of his Aunt Rose Scheepers, who built the cottage in 1929, and we will plant a tree in Harry's honor this fall when we landscape the "new" salvaged barn we are putting up. I welcome all his friends and family to stop by for a glass of cider and toast his honor.
I'll miss our correspondences, his stories and insight, but his spirit will live on here at the farm, in his shared memories of when he frolicked through the fields and beaches when he was a young lad.
Our love to his friends and family.

Condolence: Dear Family,
I worked with Harry for years at ORAU and he was a dear friend and great coworker. He loved serving the people of ORAU with his research and knowledge base. He annually invited several of us to Athens to play a round of gold and have dinner at the club with him followed by desert at the house. I was sad to learn of his passing today and wish the family condolances as you say goodbye to a good man.
